Bio
Coach Gary Davis serves as the Junior Varsity Head Football Coach at Lawton Chiles High School and as an assistant coach within the Timberwolves athletic program. A Tallahassee native, Davis attended Lincoln High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete from 2001-2006, competing in football, soccer, track and field, tennis, weightlifting, and training alongside the wrestling program. His diverse athletic background helped shape his passion for competition, teamwork, and player development.
Following high school, Davis began his coaching career at his alma mater, Swift Creek Middle School, where he coached for one season before pursuing additional football opportunities. He later earned a roster spot with the Tallahassee Titans Arena Football Team, further strengthening his commitment to the game and his understanding of the sport.
Over the years, Davis has gained valuable experience through a variety of professional and leadership roles while remaining heavily involved in athletics. His coaching background spans multiple sports, including football, baseball, and soccer at the youth level, where he has mentored and developed countless young athletes. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, accountability, effort, and building strong relationships with players both on and off the field.
Currently, Davis leads the Chiles JV Football program while also serving as an assistant wrestling coach. He is committed to developing student-athletes who excel not only in competition but also in the classroom and their communities. His approach centers on building character, fostering leadership, and creating a culture where hard work and selflessness are expected.
In addition to coaching, Davis is the owner of Davis Yard Services, a two-time Tallahassee Magazine Best of Tallahassee award-winning landscaping company. He remains actively involved in the local community and is passionate about creating positive experiences for student-athletes and their families.
Davis and his wife, Bryte, are the proud parents of five children: Payton, Taylor, Brooke, Aaron, and June. Their family is deeply involved in athletics, community service, and supporting causes that impact children and families throughout the Tallahassee community.
